Boyd Anderson is 4-0 against Fort Lauderdale since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Boyd Anderson Cobras will challenge the Fort Lauderdale Flying L's. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Boyd Anderson beat Taravella 68-57. Given the Cobras' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Trojans are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Boyd Anderson found their leader in sophomore Demarcus Deroche, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Juawayne Walters was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Boyd Anderson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Fort Lauderdale didn't have quite enough to beat Coral Springs on Monday and fell 67-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (56), the Flying L's still had to take the loss.

Boyd Anderson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Fort Lauderdale, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-8.

Boyd Anderson took their victory against Fort Lauderdale in their previous meeting back in January of 2020 by a conclusive 74-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boyd Anderson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
