 After a string of seven wins, St. Augustine's good fortune finally ran out  on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Point Loma Pointers by a score of  1-0. St. Augustine was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Point Loma apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in May of 2023.
  Grayson Boles was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On Point Loma's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Druw Frost, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with a  double and  an  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Griffin Ice, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 St. Augustine's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Point Loma,  the  win  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 11-5-3.
 While St. Augustine had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
