Softball Preview: Basic Wolves vs. Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners        
        
		
            Basic has gone  a perfect 4-0 against Southeast Career Tech recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Saturday. The Wolves will head out to  square off against the Roadrunners  at 11:00  a.m. Basic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7  runs per game  this season.
Basic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Thursday. They walked away with  a   6-2  win over Rancho. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  victory against them.

 Melanie Hughes was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   six  hits. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 5.1  strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
 In other batting news, Basic let  Natalee Ramos and  Mia Frias run wild. Ramos  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  doubles, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Frias  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  RBI. Those  two  doubles gave  Ramos a new career-high.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Southeast Career Tech, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Thursday. They skirted past Spring Valley  8-7.
 Southeast Career Tech pushed their record up to 18-9 with the  win, which was their seventh straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Basic, their record now sits at 14-11.
 Basic skirted past Southeast Career Tech  8-6 in their previous meeting  back in March. Will the Wolves repeat their success,  or do  the Roadrunners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
