Baseball Game Preview: Tigard Tigers vs. Lake Oswego Lakers

For the second straight game, Tigard will face off against Lake Oswego. The Tigers will head out to take on the Lakers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Tigard took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Lake Oswego 11-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Alexander Pearson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Jack Williams was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Conner Bok also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Tigard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Tigard pushed their record up to 6-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Oswego, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
