Meanwhile, Watervliet came up short against Lansingburgh on Friday, falling 5-2. The loss continues a trend for Watervliet in their meetings with Lansingburgh: they've now lost three in a row.

Watervliet's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Maple Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Everything went Maple Hill's way against Watervliet in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Maple Hill made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
