Baseball Recap: Coronado Takes a Loss

Coronado extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-16. They came up short against the Dysart Demons, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Tuesday.

As for Dysart, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won six contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

For Dysart's part, Jamarian (JJ) Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Johnson has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning one run and three stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Dysart's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 7-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Sinclair Delgado, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Dysart is undefeated when Sinclair Delgado posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-10 otherwise. John Amparan was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.
