Softball Recap: Waller Triumphs

Waller picked up another tournament win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 10-3 margin over the Vista Ridge Rangers.

MaKenzie Dillon made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Dillon was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Waller let Emma Bachmann and Taylor McCurdy loose on the outfield. Bachmann went a perfect3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while McCurdy scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Cali Bolling was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Waller's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Vista Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Waller is taking a road trip to square off against Cypress Woods at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Woods is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Vista Ridge, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Akins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
