The Nordonia Knights will head out to square off against the Wooster Generals at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
On Thursday, Nordonia didn't have quite enough to beat Stow-Munroe Falls and fell 3-2. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-20 in the first set.
Nordonia started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-12.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Avery Palinkas, who had three digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Tatum Hameed, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Wooster extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Baylie Hahn. The Generals were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over West Holmes on Tuesday with plenty of help from Hahn, who had eight digs and three aces. Hameed has been hot recently, having also posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Wooster took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-3, 25-10.
Wooster's record is now 16-4. As for Nordonia, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Nordonia has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Wooster struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Nordonia couldn't quite get it done against Wooster when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
