Saltillo put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past the Grenada Chargers with a 59-54 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Chargers are ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Saltillo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Shannon, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Crayden Shannon, who posted 13 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Despite the loss, Grenada still got an impressive performance from Travis Wilks, who went 11 of 22 on his way to 27 points and five rebounds. Wilks is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Joshua Guess, who had six points and 15 rebounds.

Saltillo's record is now 7-0. As for Grenada, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Saltillo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-42 defeat against Center Hill on the 5th. As for Grenada, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-36 loss against Olive Branch on the 9th.
