            Basketball Recap: Woonsocket Villa Novans vs. Prout Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            Woonsocket was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight  loss. They came up short against  the Prout Crusaders, falling  44-18. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Villa Novans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  52-17  last Friday.
 When it comes to explaining why Woonsocket lost, don't look at  Jelysa Moise. Despite the final result, she  posted seven points.
  Lauren Gill had a dynamite game for Prout,  almost  dropping  a double-double on 14  points and nine  boards. Those 14 points gave  Gill a new career-high.  Seneca Fielding was another key player,  putting up seven  points along with five  rebounds and three  steals.
Woonsocket's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Prout, the  win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
 Woonsocket didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  45-34  victory against Providence Country Day on the 7th. As for Prout, they have also  already played their next game,  a  44-27  win against Mt. Pleasant on the 5th.
