            Volleyball Recap: University Trojans vs. Portola Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            The home team had come away the winner the last six times University and Portola had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Trojans fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  3-2 on Thursday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 University actually scored more points across those five sets (105-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 13-25, 25-22, 24-26,  15-12.
University's  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-7. As for Portola, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7-1.
 The future could be bright for both University and Portola: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Trojans will try to hand Woodbridge their third-straight  defeat when the two meet  at 5:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Portola will look to extend Irvine's four-game losing streak when they meet  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
