Soccer Recap: Layton Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Layton was not quite Weber's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Layton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Weber are ranked fifth).

Layton's goal came courtesy of Edwin Tamoua, who's now up to eight this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Layton and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Weber, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Layton will take on Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Weber, they will challenge Farmington at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Farmington's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
