Softball Recap: Harbor Comes Up Short

Harbor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 13-1 to the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 back in March.

Hana Pomrantz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and 11 unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Sofia Monroe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Juliet Ray also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for San Lorenzo Valley, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Harbor is set to face off against their familiar foe Aptos at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, San Lorenzo Valley will square off against rival Scotts Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
