Volleyball Recap: Nipomo Takes a Loss

If Nipomo was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cabrillo last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Nipomo lost 3-0 to the Arroyo Grande Eagles on Friday. The Titans have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-20.

Alex Cortez paced Nipomo's offense, picking up 13 kills. Cortez got some help from Chase Spicer and his 25 assists.

Nipomo's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Arroyo Grande, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Nipomo and Arroyo Grande will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Nipomo will face off against rival Orcutt Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Arroyo Grande is set to take on their familiar foe Atascadero at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
