Basketball Recap: B O L D Comes Up Short

B O L D and Cherry squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but B O L D had to settle for second. They were dealt an 89-57 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Tigers are ranked 16th).

Despite the loss, B O L D still got an impressive performance from Will Penkert, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 23 points and five rebounds. The last time Penkert's field goal percentage was this high was back in January. Hudson Vosika was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, B O L D was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their eighth loss (out of 27 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

B O L D moved to 20-11 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Cherry, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 31-1.

B O L D didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-59 defeat against Henning on the 21st. Cherry has also already played their next match (against Nevis), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
