Soccer Game Preview: Wheeler vs. Portage

The Wheeler Bearcats will face off against the Portage Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Portage took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wheeler, who comes in off a win.

Wheeler headed into their last match having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Washington Township let them put that streak behind them. The Bearcats' defense stepped up to hand the Senators a 7-0 shutout on Wednesday. Leo Vega was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Portage didn't have quite enough to beat La Porte on Wednesday and fell 4-3.

Wheeler's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Portage, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
