Football Recap: King William Comes Up Short

King William extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-3. They took a blow against the Armstrong (Kennedy) Wildcats, falling 35-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Cavaliers were not able to get on the board.

As for Armstrong (Kennedy), the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

Armstrong (Kennedy)'s success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shadarus Pickett led the charge by rushing for 72 yards and one score on only six carries. Brendon Oliver also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King William will square off against John Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Cavaliers will be up against the Justices' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
