Football Recap: Appleton North Comes Up Short

Appleton North was the 12-0 winner over Appleton East when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lightning fell 13-7 to the Patriots on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lightning came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Patriots are ranked 121st).

Appleton North's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Appleton East, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Appleton North will square off against rival Kimberly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Appleton East is set to challenge their familiar foe Kaukauna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
