Jefferson took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Redwater, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-15 win over the Dragons on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Maddie Cooner, who went 5-for-7 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Rayleigh Gulk was another key player, going 5-for-6 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 28 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Redwater, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16-1.
