Basketball Recap: Cc Mitchell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Glenvar

There's no place like home for Carroll County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Glenvar Highlanders by a score of 41-29 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-27 back in January.

Carroll County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cc Mitchell led the charge by putting up ten points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Mitchell has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Laynie-Jo Leonard, who put up eight points and six rebounds.

Carroll County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Carroll County's victory bumped their record up to 2-19. As for Glenvar, they dropped their record down to 0-22 with the loss, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Carroll County will face off against Christiansburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Carroll County is facing Christiansburg at the right time seeing as Christiansburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Glenvar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
