St. John's's Ben Griffin rumbled for the longest rushing play in Southwest Prep - South this season in his game against Houston Christian last week. Griffin scampered for 87 yards on the play and finished with 166 on the day as his team topped the Mustangs.
St. John's extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Houston Christian, 35-14. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Macan Wilson was the best wideout in the league this week as Kinkaid bested Fort Worth Country Day. Wilson tallied 13 receptions for 164 yards. Sam Mays helped Kinkaid's passing attack out by catching six balls for 95 yards.
Carter Tomsu put up the best numbers through the air as St. Andrew's fell to Trinity Valley. He finished with a total of 14 completions for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Tomsu's favorite target this week was Rhodes Legg, who caught eight passes for 135 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Tomsu and Brandon Hawkins the Crusaders have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Tomsu leads the league in passing with 825 yards, while Hawkins has rushed for 532 yards this season. The Falcons' Wilson leads the league in receiving yards with 604 on 43 catches.
A big matchup in Southwest Prep - South this week will be when St. John's takes on the Falcons. The Mavericks are in first place, while Fort Worth Country Day is in sixth place.
Kinkaid was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Falcons defeated the Falcons 34-14.
