Softball Recap: Dublin Scioto Finds Playoff Glory Versus Northland

It's playoff time, and Dublin Scioto had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Northland Vikings on Wednesday. Considering the Irish have won 13 contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Nobody will forget Alexis Richie's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Northland's batters): she turned in a perfect game. Richie has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Avery Reynolds, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Ella Sawin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Dublin Scioto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Dublin Scioto's record is now 16-8. As for Northland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

As of now, neither Dublin Scioto nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
