Basketball Recap: Bristol Falls Short of John F. Kennedy Catholic in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bristol can now relate to. They came up short against the John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles on Saturday, falling 72-47. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Leading John F. Kennedy Catholic to victory were Henry Phillips and Nick Ryan. Phillips shot 55% from the field en route to 25 points and six rebounds, while Ryan dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. Ryan's afternoon made it 37 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Swogger, who posted ten points.

Bristol's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Bristol does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they will challenge St. Paul at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Paul will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something John F. Kennedy Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
