Baseball Recap: Central of Clay County Takes a Loss

If Central of Clay County was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Randolph County last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Central of Clay County Volunteers fell 9-5 to the Valley Rams on Friday. The matchup marked the Volunteers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Taylor Boyd was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Eli Harris was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Central of Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Valley, their victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Coming up, Central of Clay County will square off against Munford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley, they will take on Childersburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
