Softball Recap: Plano Takes a Loss

After flying high against McKinney Boyd on Wednesday, Plano came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Plano East Panthers by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cadence Charland was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Aubrey Zhang was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Plano's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12-1. As for Plano East, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-14-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Plano is set to square off against their familiar foe Rock Hill at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Plano East will face off against rival McKinney at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
