Soccer Game Preview: Woodstock vs. Pope

The Woodstock Wolverines will take on the Pope Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Woodstock turned things around against Meadowcreek on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mustangs. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wolverines' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 150th).

Meanwhile, Pope entered their tilt with Collins Hill on Saturday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 3-0 shutout.

Pope hit Collins Hill with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Elizabeth Kelly, Lily Joswick, and Viviana Carter.

Pope's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Woodstock, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
