Baseball Game Preview: Uniontown Red Raiders vs. Belle Vernon Leopards

For the second straight game, Uniontown will face off against Belle Vernon. Uniontown will be playing at home against Belle Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Uniontown came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to Belle Vernon. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Leopards recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

For Belle Vernon's part, the team relied heavily on Kole Doppelheuer, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave Doppelheuer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Matusik, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Belle Vernon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Uniontown only posted an OBP of .143.

Uniontown now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Belle Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
