East Duplin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Wallace-Rose Hill on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Panthers have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Morgan Brown spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Leighton Davis was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Beach, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

East Duplin is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
