Recap: Maclay Marauders vs. St. John Paul II Panthers
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Maclay Marauders ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-48 victory over St. John Paul II. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maclay.
Maclay's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from George Grant, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Coffin, who scored 14 points.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mario Forbes, who scored 9 points along with 15 rebounds. Forbes is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Julian Thompson, who scored 13 points.
Maclay now has a winning record of 2-1. As for St. John Paul II, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Maclay's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Crossroad Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th. As for St. John Paul II, they will challenge Community Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Community Leadership Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
