Basketball Game Preview: East Laurens Falcons vs. Treutlen Vikings

East Laurens has won five straight games at home, while Treutlen has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the East Laurens Falcons will get right back to it and host the Treutlen Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, East Laurens needed a bit of extra time to put away Dodge County. They walked away with a 79-69 win over the Indians.

Meanwhile, Treutlen hadn't done well against Jenkins County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Treutlen simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jenkins County 55-25.

East Laurens is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points per game. As for Treutlen, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Everything came up roses for East Laurens against Treutlen in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 78-46 victory. Will East Laurens repeat their success, or does Treutlen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
