Softball Recap: Gallia Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Athens, Gallia Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the River Valley Raiders. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their two-run performance the match before.

Colbie Nida spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Chloe Bennett was incredible, firing off four runs, three doubles, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Ava Angel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Gallia Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for River Valley, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Gallia Academy will challenge Southeastern at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for River Valley, they will face off against Adena at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
