Softball Recap: Belgrade's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

After only one run in their last game, Belgrade made sure to put some runs up on the board against Gallatin on Saturday. The Panthers came out on top against the Raptors by a score of 10-7. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Raptors back in April, they had to take a 11-7 loss.

Olivia Mills spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailee White was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinna Griffis, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.

The win (which was Belgrade's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gallatin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Belgrade is set to square off against their familiar foe Skyview at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gallatin will face off against rival Billings Senior at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raptors are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Broncs a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
