Football Game Preview: Hobbton Wildcats vs. East Bladen Eagles

Two dominant backs in Amir Tate and Jaden Lewis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hobbton Wildcats will take on the East Bladen Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Hobbton's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four games.

Hobbton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Union to the tune of 46-12 on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-0.

Anthony Cowell was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Reginald Thompson, who gained 67 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hobbton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 6-6 at halftime, East Bladen was not quite North Duplin's equal in the second half on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 15-14 to the Rebels.

East Bladen's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Hobbton, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.
