Ramona extended their winning streak to 12 on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 23-7 in the process. They skirted past the Otay Ranch Mustangs 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in March, they had to take a 6-5 loss.

Jakob Coxen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colton Simpson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Cal Melendez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Ramona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.

As for Otay Ranch, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 22-12 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since April 25th.

On Otay Ranch's side, Carlos Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
