Baseball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 12-7 to the Salina Central Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-3 loss on Friday.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Salina Central, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat Newton by a score of 8-3 later that day.
