Basketball Recap: Eldorado Comes Up Short

Eldorado lost against DuQuoin back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eldorado Eagles were beaten by the DuQuoin Indians 77-43. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Eldorado saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rodie Williams went 5 of 6 en route to 13 points. Those 13 points gave Williams a new career-high. Jordan Jones was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.

Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for DuQuoin, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-10.

Eldorado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-47 loss against Christopher on the 25th. DuQuoin has also already played their next game (against Frankfort), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
