Baseball Recap: Knox's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Knox dropped their record down to 9-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 10-2 to the Culver Academies Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Redskins have suffered since May 15, 2024.

As for Culver Academies, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.4 runs.

For Culver Academies' part, Foster Stockton and Max Grundberg were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Stockton pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Meanwhile, Grundberg tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stockton has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Stockton went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI, while Grundberg went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Preston Jessen was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Nick Fumich, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Knox will face off against Glenn at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Culver Academies, they will take on Kouts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.7, the Mustangs & Fillies 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
