Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elgin). They never let the Temple Christian Pioneers get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Elgin is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Temple Christian, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Elgin will challenge rival Waynesfield-Goshen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Temple Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Upper Scioto Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
