Basketball Game Preview: Chaffey Tigers vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats

The Chaffey Tigers will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Redlands East Valley Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, Chaffey earned a 61-52 victory over Schurr. That nine point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Meanwhile, Redlands East Valley strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They really took it to West Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 96-43 win. With the Wildcats ahead 49-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Redlands East Valley's win came from a few key players Chaffey will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Demaj Moore, who went 11-for-18 on his way to 29 points and four steals. What's more, he also posted a 61% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dariel Bahamontes, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds.

Redlands East Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Redlands East Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Chaffey, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
