Basketball Recap: Venus Takes a Loss

Venus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The match between them and the Hillsboro Eagles didn't end well, with the Venus Bulldogs falling 61-45. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Charlee Mack had a dynamite game for Hillsboro, putting up 24 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Those 24 points gave Mack a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Tucker, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Venus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Hillsboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Venus will venture away from home to take on Godley at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Hillsboro, they will head out to square off against Kennedale at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
