Volleyball Recap: Cactus Comes Up Short

Cactus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Mesquite Wildcats. While the Cobras didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-21 in the first set.

Cactus started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15.

Aden These paced Cactus' offense, picking up nine kills. These got some help from Dillon Hommel and his 18 assists. Finally, These was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Cactus' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mesquite, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Cactus has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Gilbert Christian on the 28th. As for Mesquite, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Northwest Christian on the 28th.
