Exeter's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 7-6 win over the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Monarchs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

A big part of Exeter's victory came down to the chemistry between Andrew Plyman and his top target Owen Robertson. Plyman threw for 143 yards and one TD on only 13 passes while Robertson picked up 85 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Exeter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Joseph Ruiz, Robertson, and Tristen Contreras picked up one apiece. Ruiz is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Taylor Vandenberg was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles.

Exeter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.5 points on average over those games. As for Sierra Pacific, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Exeter will challenge Washington Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra Pacific, they will square off against Immanuel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so the Golden Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them.
