Baseball Game Preview: New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy Bulldogs vs. South Plaquemines Hurricanes

The New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy Bulldogs will square off against the South Plaquemines Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy will be strutting in after a win while South Plaquemines will be coming in after a defeat.

New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carver Collegiate Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy was the clear victor by a 19-9 margin over Carver Collegiate Academy on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-run performance the match before.

Zylin Perry made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy got a massive performance out of Isaias Carvajal, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Carvajal a new career-high. Brody Nuhoberac was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carver Collegiate Academy struck out eight times.

South Plaquemines might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to Metairie Park Country Day, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their meetings with the Cajuns: they've now lost seven in a row.

New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for South Plaquemines, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
