Basketball Game Preview: Homer Mariners vs. North Pole Patriots

The Homer Mariners will take on the North Pole Patriots in a tournament on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Homer is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took an 82-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kotzebue on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (58), the Mariners still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, North Pole was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 68-57 to Kotzebue.

North Pole's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Homer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
