Soccer Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

Lyons was the 1-0 winner over Loyola Academy when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell 3-1 to the Ramblers on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Lyons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Loyola Academy are ranked 28th).

Lyons' goal came courtesy of Caroline Mortonson, who's now up to six this season.

Lyons' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Loyola Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4-2.

Coincidentally, Lyons and Loyola Academy will both be playing Bolingbrook the next time they take the pitch. The Ramblers will head out to face the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
