Basketball Recap: Barstow Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Barstow posted their closest win since December 27, 2023 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Sultana Sultans 55-52. This was payback for the Aztecs, who suffered a 60-47 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jayden Childs was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 11 en route to 16 points along with five boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Drelyn Brown, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Barstow smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Barstow is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Sultana, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
