Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Yellowjackets vs. Weston Ranch Cougars

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against Weston Ranch. The Yellowjackets will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Franklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Franklin turned things around against Weston Ranch on Monday. They skirted past the Cougars 10-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Yellowjackets needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Franklin's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jay Corona, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Corona has become a key player for the Yellowjackets: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Another was Miguel Rojas, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 9-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Weston Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.
