Baseball Recap: Highland Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Highland scored first but ultimately less than Madison in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 5-4. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 13-11.

Highland got a good showing from Porter Burrows, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Burrows has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Highland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lana Alvarico, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Highland's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-8. As for Madison, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Highland will host Rigby at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison, they will venture away from home to square off against Bonneville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bees have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
