Basketball Recap: Westerly Wins Going Away Against Johnston

Westerly won the last time they faced Johnston and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Westerly Bulldogs strolled past the Johnston Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 69-55.

Westerly had a senior duo take command as Maurice Dunn posted 20 points and Lucas Pennell earned 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dunn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Antoch, who had seven points.

Westerly is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Johnston, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Westerly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-49 loss against Lincoln on the 8th. As for Johnston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-46 defeat against Cranston East on the 9th.
