Football Game Preview: Lakin Broncs vs. Colby Eagles

The Lakin Broncs will take on the Colby Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lakin is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 37 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Hoisington on Friday. The game between the Broncs and the Cardinals didn't end well, with the Broncs falling 20-6. The Broncs haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Colby, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past Goodland with a 28-24 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Colby's defense and their five sacks. Goodland's QB won't forget Tage Sullivan anytime soon given he sacked him four times.

Colby's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Lakin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Lakin beat Colby 22-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Broncs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
